This movie rocks. Watched it on Saturday night. Everyone is great - Wallace Shawn, Julianne Moore, Brooke Smith (the 'Mr.-I've-Got-Your-Dog' Girl from 'Silence of the Lambs'), Lynn Cohen, Larry Pine. It's David Mamet's adaptation of Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, shot at the New Amsterdam around '94. Good Lord, it already looks like a period piece and it's only 13-14 years old.
Anyone says Americans can't do Chekhov, steer 'em to this one.
