The Seafarer
Saw this last night at the Booth. Excellent show - acting, writing, everything. Beautiful. There is something delightfully old-fashioned and spooky about it - a great yarn. The actors - particularly Jim Norton, David Morse and Ciarin Hinds - utterly inhabit their roles as thirsty low-class Irish gents and a mysterious poker-loving visitor on Christmas Eve. Conor McPherson takes his time setting everything up, and when it takes off, it's a great night in the theatre.
